On 9th of April 2015 the very first lecture of the No Border Academy took place.
Prof. Dr. Dagmar Bussiek was invited to hold a lecture about the time in Germany after World War 2 (1945-1949).
Our members requested to gain more knowledge about that time, as they were interested in how it is possible to build up a country, but especially also a society, after a war.
In a very well visited event, she talked about many different aspects of that time. She finished her lecture with a thoughtful statement about refugee integration:
“When in these times the people in West-Germany were able to integrate millions of refugees from the East under such bad conditions , we should be ashamed, when in our rich country nowadays we see refugee housings burning and people get excluded just because of their origin”
As she spoke in German, we offered a direct translation into English. To open our offer even further, we will provide the video material with subtitles in further languages as soon as possible.
Thanks a lot to Mrs Bussiek and the attentive audience.
